Therapy On The Go (Pty) Ltd t/a Hazchem On The Go ("Hazchem", "we") moves specimens, medicines and health documents. We treat every label, script and address as confidential. This notice explains what we process, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are

2. Our two roles
Operator. When we deliver for a pharmacy, lab, hospital or wholesaler, that client is the responsible party for the patient information on the parcel or requisition. We process it only on their instructions, under a written operator agreement (POPIA section 21).
Responsible party. For website enquiries, Health Cart accounts, payments we collect as agent and recruitment, we decide how information is used and this notice applies directly.
3. What we collect
- Contact details: name, phone, email, delivery address and delivery notes.
- Order details: pharmacy or lab chosen, slot, delivery fees and payment status. We do not need to see medicine names; parcels are sealed by the pharmacy.
- Proof of delivery: OTP confirmation, recipient name, signature, photo of the parcel at handover, time and GPS position.
- Special personal information (health): only where needed for a service you ask for, such as a home blood draw booking, and only with your consent.
- Vehicle telematics and in-cab camera footage, used for safety, custody evidence and incident investigation.
4. Why we use it
- To perform the delivery or service you or our client requested.
- To keep a custody record that proves who handled a consignment and when.
- To collect payment as agent for the pharmacy, lab or rental partner that sells to you.
- To meet legal duties (tax, transport, dangerous goods, labour) and to protect crews and patients.
- To send service messages by SMS or WhatsApp. Marketing only with your opt-in, and you can opt out at any time.
5. Sharing
We share information only with the pharmacy, lab or provider fulfilling your order, our crews (who see the minimum needed to deliver), payment processors, and service providers bound by confidentiality. Public tracking and verify pages mask names and addresses. We never sell personal information.
6. Where it is stored
Our platform is being hosted in South Africa. Where a service provider stores data outside South Africa, we use providers subject to adequate protection as required by POPIA section 72.
7. How long we keep it
Proof-of-delivery and custody records are kept for the period our clients and the law require for audit, typically up to five years for health-related logistics. Enquiries that do not become business are deleted after 12 months. Camera footage is overwritten on a rolling cycle unless needed for an incident.
8. Security
Sealed opaque bags, role-based access, encrypted transport, audit logs and confidentiality clauses in crew contracts. We report security compromises to the Information Regulator and affected people as POPIA requires.
9. Your rights
You may ask what information we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email info@haz-chem.co.za. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
